Any Motorcycle/Fabrication/Body Shop guru's in here? I'm in the process of restoring a 74 Honda MT250 Elsinore 2 stroke Enduro bike, which will be my first bike as well. Paint on tank was chipping, wanted to do a new paint scheme, so I went ahead and stripped all paint of, which also had a thick skim coat of bondo, hiding unknown dents. I guess any bike that is 40 yrs old has probably been laid over a few times in it's life. There is one large dent on either side i would like to get out as best as possible. I guess I've really never been a fan of bondo, especially since I wanted to powdercoat the tank.
How much work would be envolved in pulling the dents, either Paintless dent repair, or the method of welding rods and hammer pulling them out? Most of the tanks Ive seen on ebay all have some degree of dents and dinges. Was also thinking of a clear powdercoat over bare metal type of look if I can get it too look decent.
Restored MT250
Would like to do a cr250 top end conversion (cylinder jug, piston, and head), to give it about 20% more power. I think the have a little higher compression in them.
