Boondock Saints - overall badass movie (I don't think it was mainstream - I didn't see it till I got to college and somebody had it & made me watch it)

This movie is awesome. When I worked in a movie theater, we used to call this move "The greatest movie no one has ever seen"

geez, soo many great movies already said...

Salton Sea: Val Kilmer as a tweaker, great cast, crew, production. One of the great unknown movies out there

American Psycho: Christian Bale as uber-badass murderer

Machinist: Christian Bale as uber-thin delusional machine worker who weighs at 119lbs (did it before he made Batman Begins)

i've got tons more i just need to get back home to my collection

Spartan (2004) Val Kilmer, Derek Luke, Ed O Neil (Al Bundy), William H. Macy, Tia Texada

Cool smart spy movie, revolves around high profile kidnapping. Nice plot twists!

Man On Fire (2004) Denzel Washington, Christopher Walken, Mickey Rourke

What the Punisher should have been! Denzel is relentless! Stylized directing
by Tony Scott.

Equilibrium (2002) Christian Bale, William Fichtner, Taye Diggs

The Future! Love these type of movies! Cool action sequences, fights, guns!

Malena (2000) Monica Bellucci :jerkit: (j/k)

Sad story about a women longing for her husband's return during WWII.
Monica is hot in this! I should also mention that she gets undressed - but
shouldn't be the only reason to watch it - dramatic!

Children Of Men (2006) Clive Owen, Michael Caine

A future where women cannot bare any children. End of mankind!?
Cinematography is dark and gritty. Sequences that I didn't expect.

The Quiet American (2002) Michael Caine, Brendon Fraser

Being Viet American, this movie really caught my eye. Foreign Policy at
work with conspiracies. Strong performances!

I hope I didn't list many mainstream movies as I tried to recommend
movies that aren't brought up a lot.

Trainspotting - about heroin addiction - Ewan MaGregor - pretty f'd up and also funny in parts
A Clockwork Orange - long, but a classic
Gummo - I'm not even gonna comment about this one.
Elizabethtown - (could be considered mainstream, but one of my favorites) one of the best soundtracks ever
