Everywhere I read they suggest to loosen the bracket (front & rear) in order to replace the mounts. But to the best of my knowledge, as long as the top mounting bolts are off, jacking up the engine should create enough clearance for the mount to come out/go in, no?
The bracket bolts look like a pain in the @ss to loosen, and I am pretty sure the previous mechanic over-tightened them too. I'd rather not touch them if I don't have to. I am going to do this by firstly loosening all the mounts (tranny, side, front&rear), I discovered the previous mechanic didn't loosen the tranny mounts while replacing the front & rear, and they are now damaged.
