Yes, ive been through the Tire Review thread, lol.

Im stuck between the Michelin Harmony and the Pirelli P4 Four Season.

The Harmony has the most praise but it also has the highest price tag and is the better of the 2 as far as ice/snow go.

The P4 is cheaper and better on wet/dry but not as good on ice/snow.

Before anything gets started, I dont want a directional and i dont wanna have a "summer set" and a "winter set". Not right now, anyway. I just want a tire thats decently/moderately priced, does good in the rain and snow but that will also wear nice and stand up to a little bit of spirited driving.

If not these exact tires, then any experience with each respected brand, would be helpful. Thanks guys.

i like yokohamas...and michelins have better scores on places like tire rack because theres more sets out there (look at the MXV4, for example...top of the class, but just terrible)...

Yeah, TireRack didnt have the best reviews for the Avid Touring S. The tire review thread AND tire rack didnt like the MXV4 either, lol.

I had eyeballed the Avid though. But the Harmony and P4 scored better.

8.4 overall rating is not good?

it may not be a 9+, but the price is much lower than the rest

I have the Michelin Primacy MXV4 on mine and they have 30k hard miles on them and they are very good tires. Very quiet, handle decent for a all-season tire. I went on a road trip to North Carolina and they did great for cold weather. I'd look at the Bridgestone Potenza RE960as Pole Position as they are a all season tire but they handle amazing, very quiet and smooth. I have seen many reviews on these tires from bimmerforum.com, rs25.com and etc. I have never been a big fan of Pirelli because some of their tires wear to quickly and arent as great as some other tires.

i'm going to go ahead and disagree after having ridden in/driven my dad's TSX for numerous hours and miles with the MXV4 (or a number close to that...it's MXsomething)...they are the loudest car tire ive ever been present to witness, short of the cheap chinese tires and hankook optimos.

my ****pile accord, 10 years older, with higher performance tires (though 15s, not 17s, 10mm narrower) is quieter on the highway...and it's not an acura.

Here's a side-by-side.

I dont know. The Avid does look pretty good. Another factor, and this is something i need to look at myself, is that, I only drive about 100 miles/week. I make the occassional trip to KC or STL but that doesnt happen often, so im looking at putting 30k on any tire in the next 5 years.

The Pirelli may be out. If it werent for the reviews, i wouldnt have even considered it.

The Pole Position is too expensive for my taste, lol. I really dont wanna spend more than $100 on each tire.

I currently have Bridgestone HP50 and theyre too loud. Not so loud that the radio or conversation cant drone them out but i just dont like them.

linky no worky :lawl:

i have the Avid V4S on my car...one step too aggressive for winter :ugh: out of the 3 sets of tires i've had on this car, the H4S (though i believe discontinued) were the best in the snow. 6th gens are beasts with the right tires.
