i know its too late...but you can create a siphon without sucking on the hose...
park where you can get height(i.e. gravity) between the gas tank and where you want the gas to go...
fill the tube with water...
put one end in the gas and let the water be pulled out by gravity letting it drain...this will pull the gas out of the tank starting the siphon...
once the liquid coming out changes to gas then you can put it into another container....
i have to do this all the time when making beer so i have gotten pretty good at it...lol
