I had new power steering belts and AC belts put on in October and they work fine, but they seem to make a squeaking noise. I didnt know where it was coming from at first, but then i realized when I turned on the AC I heard it. and in the morning my steering always feels tight for a few minutes, could this be because its so damn cold in RI? idontknow, but they both squeak until my car is warmed up and its annoying. not really worried about it but any thoughts..?

Take ur belts off and clean ur pullies with degreaser or soap. Then use a scotch bright pad to scuff them up. Your belt will never slip and squeel again.

if the belts are new then it's the pulleys. they do go bad too.

they can't be too tight or too loose. usually if you can turn it about 90° it's the correct tightness.

When you grab the belts and move it back and fourth, there should be no more than 1/2" give.

I recently changed the timiing belt both drive belts tensioners and now my car has an annoying squeek/whine sound when the car is UNDER 2000 RPMS or on idle but goes away when im above 2000 rpms.
I also recnetly noticed the noise has been going away and is quieter now than when it first began and i didnt do anything.
Today driving home it wasnt there but then it would squeel from time to time (still when under 2000 rmpms)

The p/s belt only moves 90 degrees and the a/c belt is pretty tight cant move that much.

any ideas??

If its squealing/squeaking when you turn you're AC on its you're AC/Alternator belt. There is a bolt next to the top of this belt and it tightens and loosens it. Just adjust that until the noise goes away

I tried turning the ac on and off and it makes no difference.

Also the noise is going away however then comes up again and i didnt do anything to it.

Mind you the noise only occurs when IDLE or under 1800 rpms.

Check you're automatic tensioner, if the ball bearings in it seized up then the pulley wont spin, causing the whining sound at low RPM.
