Alright, so I did all but the harness on my new stereo. I didn't want to risk any electrical problems. Well, I took it to an install place and now my speedo/rpm/fuel/temp lights are out. I still have all the other lights (seat belt, srs, etc)

I had this happen once before when my tail lights went out. My tail lights are working fine this time, so I'm guessing its not a fuse. Could my bulbs finally have given out coincidentally at the same time as the install?

No.

They blew a fuse. Or did something incorrectly. Shame on the "professional" shop for not noticing that.

I called them about it and they said the bulbs probably just gave out. Shame, too, since that was the easiest install he probably ever did.

be like it is
don't use the solid orange wire. But don't touch it yourself...have them fix it.

They probably did try to utilize it.

At work we never hook those up. Cause nothing but trouble that has to be fixed later

If you would like to fix it yourself. Check the instrument/interior light fuse on the passenger dash side. Easy fix.

I did this not too long ago. Hooked up the orange wire like an idiot.

I meant my question to be used as a upinflated tone like a mother asking. Did they use the orange wire?

Some guides say RED for illum.
RED/Black for dimming

And others say Orange for Full Illum.

Just goes to show how much conflicting info there is.
