I forgot to tell you motor mounts usually only cause an idle vibration unless they're completely broken.
BTW I'm orig from SD, thats why my user name is 619rcr.

Nice!!! SD rocks. I live in Lakeside and work in Pacific Beach. I see that you live in AZ. I have some family in Tempe and Peoria we visit every now and then.

Thanks for the tip on the motor mounts. I looked at them yesterday and they looked alright. I just need to get a helper so I can do the brake stand check.

Also the idle started to flucuate today so i'm going to have to clean the TB and that idle control module piece behind the TB.

good times ahead this weekend.

Cool. I haven't been back for months, but I still have friends & fam in SD. Is your car auto? The AT rear mount has a vacuum hose routed to an idle control module for vibration dampening. If the hose is damaged or leaking it could cause an erratic idle, due to vacuum leak. I converted to 5spd, but still have the at rear mount.

It is an AT. I read about that vacuum hose and I will look into that this weekend as well. I guess if I pull the hose off and it idles worse then I know that it is working properly?

Reading my haynes manual it says 'idiling warm, have an assistant place car in gear with their foot on the brake & pkg brake on; while u connect & disconnect the connector at the solenoid valve. There should be a noticeable change in smoothness.' Then it goes on to explain the electrical checks

That's easy enough! Thanks for checking in the manual. I need to get one of those. I just got the car on Sunday so haven't had much time with it yet.

I have checked the motor mounts and this is not the problem.

I have not had time to check anything else yet.

The weird thing that I did notice about this was the other day. I was accelerating in reverse down a street and i do not get the vibration or noise or anything... what is up with that?
