m glad i found this site, as i am a proud owner of a 00 silver coupe. Its got a long history and has come a long way from a stock 4cyl, auto.

Im hoping to get some help from all u guys, to help solve some of the problems im having.

Here's a brief history of my accord:

Couple years back i decided to do some research on getting a custom turbo kit put in. Im from hamilton, ontario canada, (hoping theres some canadians on this site) so i looked around found a garage which will remain nameless. I knew a BUNCH of guys who had their cars successfully boosted, they were a reputable place. So i went ahead and got the turbo put in. Garrett 60 trim, turbo, e-manage. Long story short i got screwed, the garage went bankrupt and the job wasnt done correctly. With the help of a friend i managed to get it working decent. It still needs a good tune, not that quick, but quicker. So i need to know a reliable place to go to have the tune put on it, or some general advice.

Also, i managed to do the dreaded auto to 5 speed convert. That was the worst of it all. My speedo still doesnt work and im limited to 5000 rpms. This is due to the fact that i have the automatic transmission switcher hooked up to the 5 speed cpu, set to neutral, its the only way the ignition will work. So the next thing im asking is to find someone out there who either has done the swap successfully or anyone who knows where i can bring the accord to, to get it all fixed. Im hoping that theres someone out there that is willing to help me out. Love the site, looking forward to hearing from anyone and everyone.

Im also looking for a rear bumper for the coupe, so if someone has one, leave me a msg.

My name is Mike, kik username is sebe82, feel free to add me.

Thanks for hearing me out.

good to see more Canadians joining the Accord community.

i cant be of much help with your problems, however i think your going to have to swap a 5 speed ECU in place of your stock one. check a local junk yard.

there is SOOO much good information on here. just be sure to use the search button. come to think of it, there are several ppl on here woh have done the autotragic to 5speed swap on here. search and you shall find!

happy modding!

Welcome to the site!

I don't know that many tuners in Toronto, but I think that there are a few good shops out there... the folks over at the Toronto Accord Club (TorontoAccords.com) should be able to help you out.

One thing to help with your problem, especially for tuning, will be to get a ODB1 Conversion Harness and ODB1 ECU. This will allow you to run a ECU that will be chipped and programmed specifically for your engine, and the setup that you have.

Buying a Manual ECU won't do anything for you really because of the fact that it will still run a stock program.. and your engine is probably running lean as hell considering there is no management system.

Goodluck with your project, hopefully you'll have it done in time for CanAm!

Thanks for the replies guys. I contacted torontoaccords.com they werent really able to help me. Ive done some work on my car, but im still having a problem getting the speedo to work, and i still have the neutral rev limiter problem 5500 rpm. Is there anyway to bypass this or bypass the neutral safety switch?

Any suggestions would be great.

Mike, welcome to the site.

There are a few shops that you can go to, not sure about the Hamilton area, but Brampton/Mississauga and Markham have some.

There are also quite a few of us from TAC on here as well, so definitely :canada: on this site.

Depending on how far you are willing to travel to get work done, I can find out the names of some of the shops in those areas.

Happy Modding.
