new wheels question

well it took 3 months but I finally got a set of wheels. It is almost impossible to find gun metal 18's for this stupid 4x113 bolt pattern. This is the 3rd different set I ordered.

It rubs in the back if I hit bumps, did you guys have to roll your back fenders for 18's?

Shouldn't have to, but I don't know how low you are.

Shaving your bumper tab should fix it.

Wheels look great.

I am lowered on eibach pro kit. I haven't checked exactly what's rubbing as I just got them installed and drove home. But I can hear it in the rear and its when I hit a bump or come out of a drive way at an angle. What is the bumper tab, does that stick out more or something?

How wide are the wheels, and what size tires are you running?

Pro Kits lower your car approx 1.5", so you shouldn't be rubbing anywhere. Are you on your stock shocks? Your rears could be blown...

Yea you should not be rubbing, I ran that setup before I got my A-Specs with no problems. Your rear shocks might be blown.

that wouldn't surpise me if they were. I just hit 100k miles and I don't think these shocks have ever been replaced. I will jack the car up this weekend and try and find exactly where it is rubbing. Its good to know that I shouldn't won't have to roll the fenders.

OEM shocks blow faster when they are paired with lowering springs, since they were not designed for that height.

Anyway, when you jack the car up, try pushing the rear wheel upward, and if it takes little effort to get movement the shock is blown. Or if you see/feel fluid at the top of the shock where the rod goes in/out of the top, it's blown.

You don't need to roll fenders unless you are running wheels wider than 8" or tires wider than 225, AND you have to be lowered at least 2-2.5" to get the wheel close enough to the fender. Other rubbing is at the bumper tab where the bumper is screwed to the quarter panel.
