I'm sure he can look back at it and laugh now, but even in 1987, you think they would have designed a rope and pulley system that the driver/passenger could have used from inside the truck................

Just think of the adrenelin that's pumping through you during that time.
You'll be suprised how fast you can run
LOL

uhhh, bears can run up to 30mph..... last time i checked humans couldn't break into double digits much less 30mph

if there was ever an emoticon for how you'd feel while running away from a bear its this :run:

I'm pretty sure these shots are pretty old and that technology has advanced some where it is not nearly as dangerous.

i just did a quick google search on this and apparently the photos are from 1987.

I work for the park service and i wouldn't want to be on the squad that releases an animal like that into the wild. it could have decided to walk towards the camera man and decided his leg was for dinner too. and there's no way your going to outrun a bear, unless maybe its still sedated some.

yeah but even in 1987 id like to think they had a better system then stand on this box that isnt bolted down and release this bear. oh and the bear can reach the top of the box by just...standing up. haha

and i think the only reason he survived, or wasnt more injured, was cause the bear was still a little sedated.

Actually, 10mph isnt as much of a feat as it seems. Im 15 lbs overweight and i can do that no problem. Now how long i can hold that speed, thats a different story.

Heck, Micheal Johnson like broke 20 or 25, one of those.
