the more I think about it though.Its not that simple, you cant really compare the two, its apples and oranges. Football is far more diversifed than hockey, kickers never get hit, quarterbacks rarely get hit,but running backs and recievers get hit everytime they get the ball, an lineman hit each other every single play. there is litteraly hundreds of hits that take place in one game. 6'4" 250 pound guys who run 4.5 40's runnung full speed at eachother. Retired runningbacks like earl campbell are basically crippled and hobbles around.I remember seeing jerome bettis being barely able to walk down the stairs after a game. Teh average lifespan of a runningback is rediculously low like 3-4 years or sumthing. IT really depends on the position in football.
But hockey will probably get a few big hits like the one in the video in one game and a freak accident like getting hit with a puck going 100 mph, or slapped in the head with a stick, or getting your throat cut with a skate.
ANother reason why I think football might have the edge, is just by comapring the sheer number of football players who get injured compared to hockey players.
