Noob Question about droppin

Hey guys im new to this site and i have a quick question. I want to slap on some 17" rims and drop my car a few inches(or it wouldnt look good). Since I live in Canada I need winter rims for the winter time n I was wondering Can i use 15" winter rims since they are cheaper or will my car ride to low or look stupid?

if its winter tires, why do u care if it looks stupid? I wouldnt care..but I only have about 1.5 months of winter here in atlanta..and no snow, so I dont know..im dropped 2.25 inches and running 15in stock steelies right now.
