Far as I know, nobody has yet put a k swap into a 98-02 accord. Those that try, usually end up swapping in something else. The f23 has weak rings. You mentioned high miles, you're probably burning oil. Adding a turbo will degrade the rings quicker. Personally if i had the cash saved up like you do, I'd pick up an h22 from a pick and pull yard, throw in darting sleeves, forged low comp pistons and rods, and throw a crapload of boost in it. That would probably use most of what you have saved if you do it yourself. Including the tune and ecu. Then I'd grab coilovers, wider rims/tires and a progress rear sway bar.

bro, it's been done. Actually if I remember correctly, their is a dude in this website that has done it. I'll post a link as soon as I find it. But he is right, h22 would be a better deal.

The guy building the Frank K series isn't even done with his swap yet.

Technically it hasnt been done, but pretty sure he will be done this year with his turbo setup.

take the 8 grand and buy an E36 M3, keep the accord for puttering around town.

However, if you are intent on keeping the car:

1. Coilovers or some sort of good spring/shock setup
2. Wheels with good tires
3. Progress 24mm rear sway bar from 04-08 TL
4. Intake/ Header/ Exhaust
5. Take the rest of the money and put it in the bank. You'll have plenty of fun on those mountain roads with a good suspension setup and quality wheels and tires. It is pointless to dump 8 grand into an old car with 175,000 miles on it. Use the rest of your money to save up and get something worth doing work on.
I concur with both of the above.

Dreman is the member performing the swap..and he's doing it right so it's taken a lot of time. I also think it ended up on the back burner for a while.

most of the items note already are good, and if you want upgrade the brakes without breaking the bank, do a simple acura legend dual piston caliper upgrade or if you want almost the same as bbk but cheaper, go for the acura RL calipers/rotors with SS lines

You can boost the stock f23 farther than 200 horses haha iron walls really help with boost. If you aren't trying to make an insane performer or dump alot into the engine, then turboing the stock f23 is the way to go. If you decide that route talk to Nikita (russianred).

Oh really? I was thinking running too much boost on a stock motor would make the head blow. Rods breaking, piston rings getting eaten all the stuff that ppl upgrade in order to have a working reliable turbo car. That's surprising though, you know what was the max hp that ppl got out of the stock f23?

You may want to change the rings, but you definitely don't need forged anything. Stock f23's are bullet proof. Although, at that high of miles getting lower mileage internals for a cheap price isnt a horrible idea. The other Guy mentioned doing a h turbo. That's all well and good, if you're looking to spend a ton of money. H's are pretty weak for boost and take money to build up internals, although you can settle with just sleeving it.

Hseries don't boost we'll because the high compression ratio and they have FRM cylinder walls, stock. (fiber reinforced metal)

I say drive it untill it dies, while saving for something that is already sporty/fast. You can't turn an accord into a corvette... I've accepted that. Lol

It would be Coupe vs Sedan, so not sure that there would be fairness based on the uneven weight already.

Would be a good head to head matchup, but probably better to line up Mike and Jake and see what a S/C vs Turbo J-series match up would be like.

OP, for the BBK, I would consider doing an OEM BBK upgrade. Would probably mean doing a 5 lug swap as well, to maximize the upgrade, but if you are good at sourcing out parts, there are great deals that can be found.

Honestly, the more I think about this, the more I say to put the money towards a better performance platform. $8,000 + Accord = under-performer for the $$. Keep the Accord as a daily, it'll make a great one of those.
