Me? :lawl:

I'm not really running anything. I'm not personally super into it myself, I just install the ****. Like I think it's cool, but for me the money can be better spent.

My only issue with 8's is they never seem to find the really low frequencies.

IE:10-40hz

8s might not be as big as other drivers but then can get as low if put in a proper enclosure they might hit below 30 hz but they can get pretty low

Vd - Maximum linear volume of displacement of the driver (product of Sd times Xmax), in cubic meters. "This parameter is the Peak Diaphragm Displacement Volume — in other words the volume of air the cone will move. It is calculated by multipying Xmax (Voice Coil Overhang of the driver) by Sd (Surface area of the cone). Vd is noted in cc. The highest Vd figure is desirable for a sub-bass transducer."

Vd, power and enclosure are all that matter when you want loud and low. If you just want low then most subwoofers can do that regardless of size.

its hard tuning 8's low because of port area and size required for the sub. being tuned low means a bigger box so the port area all works out. way easier to get 15's and 18's tuned LOWW because they came take 3-5 for 15's and 5-9 cubes for an 18 roughly. thats alot of room to play with the port and make it right. yes 8's can get low but you'll need alot of drivers so you can get the size to make the port right. single 8 would be hard to tune low

:bump: Thread revival!!!

Since this was mentioned in another thread here recently, thought I'd post up in here.

Pioneer headunit (Has been upgraded to the new Mixtrax Bluetooth version)

New model Type R 12s in horribly small box

Soundstream Rubicon 2500 Watt amp

Rather useless 3.5 Farad Capacitor

Custom built box with double baffling, 3/4" walls, 3.8 cubic ft, tuned to 37Hz

Other random stuff:

0 gauge wiring kit, odd and end kits put together
Kicker DS693 6X9s
Kenwood KFC-1664S Coaxial with factory tweets still hooked up
Brand new off brand cheapo high output alternator
Duralast Gold battery

Older videos, kinda shabby, amp was only cranked almost 1/2 way up due to old alternator issues, but you can hear how awesome my door and rear speakers sound!
