what lens was it? ive never seen flare so intense from a "modern" lens with only a couple street lights in the pic.

also, you should post the 1024px version of your pics instead of the 500...we dont use 640x480 monitors anymore

That was with the 70-200 f/2.8. Those are very far from "streetlights." Williams Grove has stadium lighting all around it. The place is lit up like daylight once the sun goes down.

SB800 or D800?

i think he means B800 as in an Alien Bee B800 flash unit. I have an alien bee and hardly ever use it also. I've thought of selling it, but i eventually want multiple lights i can put on stands....and i just haven't decided whether or not i want to invest in lights/portable power or a bunch of yungnuo flashes instead which aren't as powerful, but way more portable.
