yea, i had my HID kit on for about 6 months without a harness, but i have heard of some people having problems, and i just didnt wanna take the risk, so i bought the upgraded harness. i remember a while back du3ce had problems with his turning on, i think? and idk what the outcome of that was, but that was one of the things to make me want the upgraded harness, haha.

I don't know how you guys have yours wired (I'm not retroed  ) But IMO, any properly wired/relayed system will work. Ultimately, it will depend on how much draw you are putting on your harness. If you're drawing too much amperage through your stock harness, you're going to have problems, and it should be upgraded.

I know some people worry that it will fry their electronics on the stock harness...but that is what the fuses are for on the stock harness...i would use my harness if it worked...but since it didn't and stock has worked so far i will keep it...I can't think of any reasons why you really would HAVE to have them..but i am no genious when it comes to this kinda stuff

That is what fuses are for, unless someone gets dumb and ups the amperage on their fuse or something like that. Stock wiring is designed to handle a specific load (actually, ALL wiring is designed to handle a certain load) and when you push that too far, you can POTENTIALLY damage more than just a fuse... Especially if you're being a complete idiot, or don't have a clue what you might be doing. My guess is, for the standard application, by the sounds of it, stock wiring should traditionally be fine (can you tell I work for the media? That last line really didn't confirm anything... :D )

I just have some silver stars. I really like the output that I get from those, but I definatly wanna upgrade lights as soon as I can start working on my car again. BTW really nice retrofit, one of the coolest I have seen.

(For the non-retro person in me) How are those silverstars working for you? I used those for a while, but I was replacing each one about every 2-4 months, which in my opinion is way too often, so I went back to Cool Blue's (which don't look a WHOLE lot different) and they have laster for 8+ months... I think I went through a half-dozen or so of those silverstars before I called it quits...

THANKS!!! :D I love the output on these..As far as a DIY on retro V6P has a few i believe...just go to the HID section and look around...

here is a comparison of 6000K Hid's with my retro..You see which is better
