So i just got a used oil pan from the junkyard and was wondering how would I go about cleaning it. Besides just wiping it with rags..I was thinking of a little dish shop and water to clean then air dry. And also what liquid gasket should I use to install it.

Soak it in Dawn (or any other dish soap), scrub, rinse, repeat until clean. As far as gasket, just go to Autozone and order yourself a new gasket and pick up so Hondabond

Hondabond isn't used. perma ultra gray is good stuff. REAL thin on paper gaskets, only corners on rubber, fsm for size of others.

I just went to the junk yard this morning and grabbed a oil pan also,
I razor bladed all old gasket off
Then soaked it in degreaser, then pressure washed it.
let it air dry for awhile then wiped the rest with a rag, making sure nothing was left behind.
Used the FELPRO rubber gasket at autozone for $21.
no leaks.

when you were removing the old pan how rusted were your header bolts. Mine are kinda rusted and figured I would need a simpact gun to get em off. but my school is off limits at the moment
