Instead of using aircraft stripper, I'd suggest you buy some duplicolor paint stripper, it works way better and less messy.

i would lower and try blacking out the center caps to see if that makes them look better first...you can get a small sheet of flat black sticker from a sign shop for cheap then cut out a rough sketch...stick it on...and then take a razor blade to make it perfect...
