I was definitely creepin with my massive 24-70. 50 is just right for me because of the full frame goodness that is the 5D sensor.

one of my B&W filters is as heavy as 3-4 normal filters (comparing 62mm filters).
50mm on the street is ok when its darker, so i can use a 1.7 or 1.4 lens. otherwise, its a 28/2.8 thats less than 2" long. possibly might be getting a 35/2 which is big but a perfect focal length and is fast.
