So... I want some feedback before I propose the idea to me mom:

I want to trade my Tamron 28-300/3.5-5.6 for her Canon 18-55/3.5-5.6... I really miss having a lens that wide, not to mention it's a **** ton sharper than the Tamron at any focal length and aperture.

I have literally not used the Tamron in about 4 months simply because I'm always disappointed with the results. I know if I trade her for it, she'll never notice the difference on the 300D...

id rather have the kit lens over some superzoom tamron stuff :coffee:

i suppose if you were on vacation with non-photographers, something like the 18-200 or 18-250 would be convenient. but **** em...they can wait while you change lenses :lawl:

true that! i love when people try to take pictures with my 50, lol "how do you zoom?!"

i was using my kit lens today, moving the camera back and forth for framing and using the focus ring. habits die hard :redface2:

Yea, once you get some zooms that arent terrible, you begin to utilize the entire zoom range instead of just the extremes.
