Yeah I appreciate the thoughts and suggestions. I am thinking getting my local dent wizard per the house an have him take care of my dents. For 200 bucks he'll do my 8 dents I have. I might just do that first and then take off the stripes myself. I love the flat matte blue that dipyourcar has but the more I look at other colors that people have done on here I am thinking otherwise. I might go the maaco route or look into my local auto detail shop if I do get it done. I just hate having a fresh paint job and some of these idiots around nashville denting my car up all the time. Hell when I got out of the hospital after having my son two weeks ago I had two huge dents and chipped the paint on one. Ridiculous to say the least.

Plastidip isn't paint. Its just temporary. Plus matted colors just look horrible on our cars

There is a whole crew devoted to this here in Houston. They use the dipyourcar.com stuff and they have a few cars that are really nice actually. (Bright Orange WRX wagon, and a light blue Cobalt SS) couple of my buddies have plasti-dipped cars as well. Would I do it to my car? No. Does it work for them and look pretty good? Yes. Just depends on your preferences with your car really. Lots of extra work too. You can't use soap on that stuff, so washing your car is more of a pain, and you have to re-layer it every year or so otherwise it fades really bad.

That's good to know. I have seen a lot of cars with the plasticoat and it does look good to me but it sounds like it would be more of a hassle than I want. I might just end up plasticoating the new lip that I am getting though. I have just seen too many lips that the paint cracks way to easily.

You can get a clear bra put on the lip if you are willing to pay the extra money.

RedRyder got that done, so you can ask him about the results.

Don't do it unless your car is totally just destroyed exterior wise beyond repair

Stick with the easy way to get a cheap paint job.

1. tape off
2. sand
3. prime

4. take to MAACO for them to single stage:beer:

Plastidip is garbage. It's a waste of money to dip your ***** car because it won't last for half a season. And if it does then you are either lucky or lying

then those people should stop going to the body shops they're using to paint their lips. if the shop knows what they're doing, the paint shouldn't just easily chip off. my lip hasn't had an easy life, and it still has yet to chip.

plasti dip also isn't meant to just peel off either, maybe the dip your car stuff is, but definitely not plasti dip. it only peels off when you applied it terribly and/or the surface you were applying it to wasn't prepped correctly. i've had plasti dip on my wheels for the past 2 years and it holds up to everything. washing, wheel cleaner, hurricanes, snow, everything, and nothing has peeled off yet.

I paid $1500 for my paint job and it was a steal. If you don't care about your car enough to pay for a decent paint job, then you shouldn't care about spots in your clear coat IMO

I love my car don't get me wrong my pockets don't roll that deep right now and I am enjoying my obsession of this Accord but I not going to be entering any contest or anything like that. Just more of a hobby. I just know when I use the tool to take off the pinstripes it won't look the same as the other side that the dealership just put on before I bought it. I guess I could take it in and have them put a fresh coat of clearcoat on..
