well i had the cat replaced last january when i bought the car.. if it was a problem w/ the cat it would shoot a P0420, no?

ok.. i figured out that my problem is a vacuum leak... the only problem is, i don't know WHERE... is there any easy way of figuring it out?

double check all your hoses that are hooked to the intake manifold...

if there arent any loose or damaged ones, run the engine and use brake cleaner on anywhere it could be leaking and watch for bubbles.

(its a long shot, but if you know someone with a snap-on solus OBD scanner, it has a troubleshooting selection and gives hints on the common weak points for the codes you're throwing.)

well, i couldn't figure out what was wrong with my car, so i finally gave up and took it to my mechanic... turns out my #2 injector is bad, and i have a bent exhaust valve in #1 cylinder... time for a head job

ya i had looked at that one... you're right that's not a bad price at all, but i'm strapped right now... i got an extra head that i threw on for now... it'll run for the next couple weeks til i can splurge for a rebuilt.
