Power window help!

My 2001 Coupe windows will no go up completely they go about half way and just stop and make a loud "clanking" sound. and also when I close either door the windows go back down after i have manually pushed them up.

So both sides are broken exactly the same way?

There's not much to do other than to remove a door panel and see what is wrong. It's usually pretty obvious once you can see all the parts.

Replace the regulaters. eBay can be your best friend.

How long do our regulators last, since I see a lot of ppl with the same problem?

Yes there broken the exact same way which I found very weird but I do think it is the regulators because you can still hear the motors whizzing as you hit the button.

Just get new regulators. I just had mine go out about a month back on the passenger side for my coupe. They cost like $120 per regulator or so at Autozone with the motor included. The install is pretty straight forward too.

Would a ebay brand suffice or are they pretty much crap?

I replaced my driver side regulater with an eBay brand. no complaints works just as well. If you want to spend the extra money go ahead and get an OEM one.

My Autozone brand one rolls up a hell of a lot faster than my OEM one, but then again my OEM one on the driver side is ten years old, whereas the OEM replacement one is like a month old haha.
