if you have infinity Kappa perfect door speakers you wont need an amp, because they come with a built in crossover, if you do anything get a multi channel amp run your 2 rear speakers to it along with whatever sub you are using, this set up is killer, my car is loud and crystal clear no distortion. :)

I guess it depends what components you have, because I made an attempt to install my Boston SL's and I quickly aborted because they sounded like complete **** without the amp.

Actually, I love my Kappa/Xplod combo. Kappas provide clear, crisp sound and the Xplods have some really nice bass to them. I guess I could use an amp, cause my rears are rated at 400W max, so they could use some power. But for the time being, no amp since a little low on $$ after my sway.

My kappa's couldn't even handle not having an amp. The HU would shut off. And that was with just my front components. I was just trying to get a bit ahead on my install before my amp came and could only get them to work at low volume with the bass turned all the way down.
