I ended up spending about $10k when all was said and done. Most of the drivetrain components are from an S2000, took a lot of custom work.

If you REALLY wanted to do it, you could. You could do an SR20 but yes the weight might have to be adjusted and a lot of time, money, and patience but it can be done.
Not for nothing, wait a few months this might be next for me :)

TRYING? if you have the money to whiz off being VERY unique, it won't be a try but it IS possible. Don't make me mock a sketch and start off on this ASAP.
ihazs2k to work on or an SR20 RWD on teh accord. Not sure yet.

You'd have to build a freakin' tunnel through the car to run a driveshaft to the rear... the bottom of our cars are damn near flat. And then you'll need to make a lot more room in the back for a rear differential, with enough room to run exhaust somewhere that isn't 1" off the ground. The R&D required for this is sadly more than anyone on this forum could afford realistically.

The tunnel is the easy part. just get a welder and a reciprocating saw. The hardest part would be aligning everything up. especially the rear diff. Im have no doubt in my mind that it could be done for less than 5000$ if you do all the work your self. The fuel tank would have to be modified, but you could probably just put it in the trunk.
