remote starter tester connections

many years ago I had a remote starter to test the compression-I forgot how to hook it up because now I want to inspect my timing belt -as I remember I think the one lead goes to the "s" terminal on the starter solenoid and the other connection is to the battery positive-but as I said before I am not sure-before I fry ou my electrical system I thought maybe I should ask.

That sounds about right. I think the "S" terminal is for solenoid and has the small wire on it. If so, the other clamp attaches to the battery post on the starter.
