Esteemed 6GA Guru's,
This morning I noticed my coupe didnt start as smoothly as it does regularly. My clutch pedal was pressed all the way to the firewall for it to start. I drove to a meeting about 60 Miles away, parked my car and went about my business. When i was trying to leave the meeting, my car would not start. Luckily, a good guy near by gave me a hand and helped me push-start the car. I drove the car to Advance Auto Parts and purchased a new starter. I installed the starter as instructed by the Honda Shop manual I have but the car still wont start.
-I checked the grounds; fine
-I checked the battery terminals; fine
-I checked the alternator by disconnecting the negative cable while the car was running. The car didnt shut off, so the alternator is good.
-I tested the new starter by jumper wire from the positive terminal to the solenoid terminal on the starter and the motor cranked.
I did my research on 6GA and have read about the main relay problem on the DIY Main Relay Repair (Intermittent starting issues) thread.
Can anyone advise if they've experienced a similar issue as Ive described and upon replacing the Main Relay, the problem was resolved? or are there any suggestions to troubleshoot?
So far, the only way I can start the car is by push-starting it. Its driving me insane.
