Ahhh the truth comes out!

I thought about looking into some custom rectangular angel eyes... i think that would look dope. Maybe we're thinking on the same track? Maybe?!

whats a tsx-r?

id have to see side by side pics to be convinced that the tsx lenses make the s2k's sharper since, well...AP1 s2k's are pretty much the sharpest out there...my guess is that it gives up some width or intensity...it would be hard to make the s2k's any more intense, sharper, or wider without lots of experimentation...

A TSX-R is a replica TSX clear lens. And to see how it improves the S2K, just check here

not a huge difference...a little more intense in the middle, sharper on the sides of the middle, more color.

i guess the benefit would be that you could probably sell the s2k lenses for a bit of money...errr...you could have a couple years ago...the replicas made them (probably) worth less than the fake tsx lenses.

yes i am one of those people who dislikes matt and the retrofit source for the schemes/scams he tried to pull a few years ago. now the market is driven up on things like genuine e46 shrouds (mine were like $60 with a small scrape and same side but who'd notice?)...

Who said anything about the retrofit source? I'm having my retrofit done by Caesar. And Actually the TSX-R lenses are better than the S2K's (trust me, I've seen both in person, and it's a sharper cutoff with the swap). Plus, I couldn't have sold them, because I was still using them lol.

one thing to keep in mind is that... not all S2K Projectors are created equal. The earlier generation of S2K Projectors (AP1) are simply amazing, while the new generations are barely passable with its blurry cut off and uneven lighting.

Lucky for me, I was able to pick up a set of AP1 S2K Projectors are used it for my retrofit years ago. So far, it's probably the best projectors i've seen. NOticably better than the TSX and almost as wide as the LS.

So looking at the projector you have, you probably got the newer generation ones where the quality has really slid. But why don't you sell the S2K and pick up a set of TSX and save yourself a couple hundred dollars, AND have the same output?

But looks good on your list. You may have too much stuff in your headlights, and it may look overly cluttered. My headlights are on the way to Rich to add in LEDs and swap in TYC CLear lens now :)

I don't agree with the prices you've listed, but if that helps you make your point then so be it. When I saw your continuous posts commenting about this upcoming retrofit, I assumed it would be a quad-s2k. The LED strips do look great, and the TSX-R lenses are a must nowadays for the s2k setups unless you have e30 lenses lying around. Good job overall, I just wish you would have found better prices for this setup because you could have saved hundreds of dollars. I guess for now you'll have the nicest retrofit on the forum. :jae:

the retrofit source is having replica stuff made...unless there's another person doing the lenses as well. caesars a good dude with amazing work...dont think id rather have anyone else work on my lights :) (if i had the money to pay someone, that is :lawl: )

isn't he doing "local-only" stuff now?
