yea i get you. im just saying as if your a car enthusiast, and your car is a total show car, the day you take out your car, your at the wrong place at the wrong time, and your car gets impounded or what not just for having a modified car. idk. think that first cop just ticking me off lol

That really sucks.
But depending upon the modification, the only thing that can be done is a ticket.
Regardless of the amount of modifications done to your car, they cannot single out your car and being modified for street racing.

i like the analogy and it's so true. i've been pulled out of my car by a cop for absolutely nothing. He pulled me over for no reason and i called him on it. Just figured that since i had a modified honda it meant that i had illegal parts as well as drugs. Sat on the curb for 2-3hours still not knowing why we got pulled over. it took him 10min to open my hood...lol. i had to tell him how to. and omg.. all that work for a carb legal CAI. So after my car was stripped they found nothing cause nothing was there for them to find. But so they could feel better about themselves they gave me a ticket for running a stop sign.... that DID NOT exist... Judge looked at the pics and dismissed it. Matt-2 cops-0

In socal, if you are asian and drive a hooked up car, if you are black and drive a nice caddy, if yur arab and in line at the airport, you are getting a much longer look than everyone else. I don't like it, I don't agree with it, and I do speak out against it, but it still happens.

It's kinda like the analogy that a few bad apples ruins the bunch, so while I really do think the number of actual street racers is much much less than it was about 10 years ago, cops still have a pre-conceived notion of what a racer looks like and consciously or not, their behavior is influenced by it... Happened to me a number of times when I had my GTI cause my setup was a not as quiet, and I'd get stopped and questioned where I was going to, coming from, etc...

^^^I totally agree
Just like what happened in NYC last night.
Cliff notes

A cop (black) was getting off duty changed clothes (now in plain clothes) went outsite and noticed someone breaking into his car.
He pulled his gun and started chasing him
a uniformed cop (white) saw a man with a gun chasing another man and opened fire on the plain clothes cop.
He fired six shots. 2 hitting him in the awn and one in the chest.

You may the call

I live in Riverside county and I see that kind of stuff around. Here's my experience from the RPD, one night I was sitting in my accord around 9pm and I was waiting for my wife to get out of the house. So I pull out the driveway and park on the street. She was taking awhile so I decided to lay back the seat to take a quick nap. Not a few minutes, I heard a loud *** tap on my driver side window. I quickly seat up and saw a flashlight on me, roll down the tinted window and what do I see? Yeah you guess it not just 1 but 2 of them. He ask me what I was doing, and I said Im waiting for my wife to get out of the house in a calm voice. His face reaction was priceless, he didn't say anything and just waive to his partner and left. I was thinking why would they come up to me? Oh well maybe cause my car is lower and its tinted, probably thinking I was gonna start something in the neighborhood, my neighborhood!! :booty: So thats why when 1 cop pull someone over, usually 2 or 3 more come join in the fun. Its like that everytime here in my town.

to be honest...if that cop in uniform saw anyone chasing someone with a gun, he probably would have shot at him. it's not just black folks who carry guns...any race can and does...

saying that a white cop shot a black cop cause he was black and had a gun takes it a little too far, IMO. he saw someone with a gun chasing someone else. i wouldnt have shot anyone, personally, unless i saw the gun being turned towards me.

I loathe the police that sit on the side of a road/interstate at 1am where there is no traffic and clock speeders, they need to get a real job. There's a few good cops out there, but in my experience the greater majority are a-holes and need to leave people alone.

I'm glad cops look out for street racing, people can get hurt. That's why racing is a profession.
