Rotor Suggestion

Okay I am looking for a little input on this one. I have searched and read but really just looking for some opinions on this one. I HAVE to replace these rotors because the look like sh** with the new Rims. I am not looking for high performance rotors this is just a daily driver. I just need a set of quality rotors that look nice with so much of the rotor exposed. After searching I get that the Brembo Blanks are highly recommended but will they look like my current rotors in 6 months or maybe go with a drilled/slotted setup to cure this ugliness. Dont mind the rust on the body paint job will coming soon.

I got powerslot slotted rotors with a black powder coated center and vents. They work good. Perhaps you want those zinc plated gold brembos?

If you want a bigger rotor a V6 caliper swap w/ bracket + 4-lug 11" Prelude rotors should help a little.

Car will be painted Silver so Gold Brembos would be a no-go. I will look into the Powerslot though.

The gold rotors don't stay gold for long... but the coating is nice for the parts of the rotor that don't contact the pads as they resist rusting longer.

The caliper is known as the "ITR" caliper, I guess Honda used it a bunch of cars. My specific ones were off a 99 Prelude.

After reading your write up and another members write up on this setup it sounds really good. However I dont think I want to put that much money into it(spending the cash on a suspension at the moment). Looks like I will just get Brembo Blanks, some good pads, paint Calipers, and Drums and be done with it. Thanks for the input.

Yeah, you will be fine with blanks, and decent pads. The prelude rotors and calipers would give you better stopping power for a bigger wheel/tire combo, but I still think it is overkill for a daily driver. Where are you located in VA?

^^Nice, My cousin used to live on Monument Ave. He didnt move to far away. Not sure of the street though. Fun town. The night life scene is kool. Always something to do. I think Sublime is playing there in Richmond tonight?

I haven't found a rotor yet that will resist oxidation...Brembo blanks, Powerslot, Rotora all need cleaned up and painted every so often. Never tried the gold coated ones though.

If you want the cheapest solution and your rotors are still good, take em off, sand off the crap, clean with brakleen, and paint with high temp black (only the hub and outer rim of course), and they will look how Rotora's look new.
