Rusty Rotors

I just had new brakes put on like 2 months ago and they are already rusted. What cause is and how do you prevent it?? :wtf1:

If the rotors are rusty thats no problem, just go drive and brake hard a few times and the rust will be removed in the process. Can't do much to prevent it, happens to everyone's rotors but it will rub off from braking.

do you mean the inside part is rusty and the breather holes? I took mine off and painted them with a high temp paint so they wouldnt look rusty.

Rotors rust, period. Not much you can do. You can get cadium plated rotors aftermarket, or any rotors that are coated, they will not rust outside of the break pad area.

When i painted my calipers, i thined the paint and just wiped it over the hub area to make it look better. Don't ever paint the hub surface but apperance wise, this looks better.

But, rust isn't a problem at all interms of function.
