But in a world where it's either sports/performance or economy, a lot of companies are going economy.

Honda already had 4cyl + 6spd in the TSX, SI, and CRZ. SI is 4cyl 6speed 200hp and its kinda quick. Not going to blow the doors off anyone but I wouldn't describe it as slow granted the accord is going to weigh more.

oops...my bad for not specifying, but i meant the Accord line.

why would you want manual when you can get CVT ? it shifts smother and dosent drop RPMs when it shifts up in gears, and gets good fuel economy. to me that equates to a finely tunned car, yes there's much better tunned cars, but they cost a hell of alot more than the v6 accord. i really begin to wonder if people who dont like CVT trannys have even driven one, there alot better then manual IMO. i mean i dont know about everyone else but i can shift a hell of alot faster with my fingers on the padle shifters then with my arm streched out to the stick, its like playing an Xbox, and feals smooth as hell when shifting.

If you're good at driving a standard...it can be just as smooth. And I get much more joy & satisfaction out of improving my hand/footwork and perfecting rev matching than letting a computer do it for me. That’s what I hated about the 370Z. Yeah the whole auto rev matching tech is cool, but what kind of driving experience is it with the driver being taken out of the equation? To me it’s the same thing as cars that park themselves. No thanks.

6-speed auto FTW.

This. It might not be that bad...other than not being able to shift gears.

But as far as torque goes that should remain the same. My buddies parents have owned 2 of the latest generation Ford Escapes. One 2008 with the V6/4-auto, and the other 2011 with the same V6 but paired with the new 6 speed auto. My friend can't believe how big a difference the gear ratios and 2 more gears can improve an engine.

Idk, maybe I'm just an inexperienced Teenager. But I think "everything is gonna be alright".

Every CVT I've driven has been an absolute piece of CRAP.
This.

And definitely this.

The reason I want a standard is for the driver experience.
