What happened to the good old Italian tuneup?

How'd you get it into the engine, did you pour it into the crankcase or just feed it thru the PCV?

Ive always wanted to try the seafoam. I have about 103k right now. Do you guys think that my engine would be fine if I did it?

i did about a half can in the pcv line and the other half in the gas tank.

smoked quite a bit, and then i changed the oil right after a 15 min drive.

that was about 500 miles ago and everything seems fine since then.

gas mileage may be marginally better but it's hard to tell. not sure if it helped/hurt my oil consumption.

only time will tell.....

EDIT: btw, i have 142k+ miles :)

I have read a bunch of threads and it really makes me wonder if it does anything beside make smoke. Poeple say their car feels a "tiny" bit better which makes me think they are just trying to justify it. I only have 34k though, i'm not worrying about it.

So, where do all the carbon deposits go after doing this? lol, burn out the exhaust? sit in the oil pan?

both, that's the smoke and the reason you have to change the oil and filter immediately after.
