So..i've got my mechanic to put new axles...i started getting the noises that other guys on here were having...the growling/vibrating noises on while in gear and when i let go the clutch...that has just disappeared on its own i dont know how or why...the point is now i get gonks and clunks every time i shift....mostly 1st..2nd..3rd and it gets super hard to put it into gear as if i had no oil...which i just filled up when i had the axles swapped...what can this be? i know but clutch is stock and almost ready to go...besides that...i dont know of anything else that could b wrong with the tranny since i just did the 5sp swap...

Did you have the axles replaced at a Honda dealership?

If not, replace whatever oil is in your tranny with Genuine Honda Fluid, or even better GM Syncromesh Fluid.

Drain it and re-fill it with either of the two fluids I listed and take it for a drive. If it doesn't shift smoother than your looking at something a lot more difficult to fix :run:

How many miles are on your tranny? The syncros on my 4th gen went at around 300,000km. Pretty good since I was the 4th owner and I learned to drive stick with it.
