Hello everyone. Really hoped my first post here wouldn't be under this area, but I'm running out of options. I can't find a parts diagram for the shifter assembly in my 2000 Accord Ex. I'm currently having a major issue, such as....No first or second gear due to the assembly binding somewhere. The only place I can see that could possibly be causing this is the hole where the horizontal control arm links in to the plastic cable retainer. I've got a mess of white crap coming out by the metal dowel, and definitely don't have the time or space to rip everything apart tonight.

It isn't completely gone. If I swing the shifter side to side I can hear a slight pop, almost like the arms or cables themselves were binding, and usually can enter first and second again. I checked everything under the hood and can't seem to find any play there. I can actuate everything by hand without issue, so I do believe it most definitely lies in the shifter assembly.

I apologize for the page of text over a small issue. I'm just beyond stumped as to where I can begin to look for an exploded view of what might be wrong.

Thanks in advance. I'm definitely looking forward to being part of the community.

If you can post a pic of your assembly I'll go open mine up to use as a reference. See if we can't get it figured out.

I may be up there some this summer Todd. Planning to poke around junkyards to see if I can't find a 2JZ or 7MGTE to swap into my 89 Supra.

So, the problem is solved. With the help of a friend, proper lighting, and my intake off, we came to the realization that the retaining clip for the cable had came off. Thankfully, even though no part store around here has any idea what I'm on about, I pulled the clip from the shift assembly inside. Slapped it in, fashioned a new clip out of body spacers for the shift assembly, ziptied it in place just to be safe, and done is done!

Shifts better than ever. There's no telling how long I've been without that and managed to get by.
