recently got a 98 sedan ex emerald green with 140k miles and half of the car's gloss is wore off and the paint is faded. I got the car for free and its my current daily. I just can't stand staring at the paint. Should I repaint it? Is it worth it?

Depends what you plan on doing with the car. If you're going to keep it for a while and want to make it look good, I would invest in a paint job.

But if you just want something a little cheaper and still look decent(depending on how it was done), plastidip is a good alternative. Idk about prices where you live, but there is a shop around me that does nothing but plastidipping cars and they charge around $600-$700 depending on the size of the car. However they do quality work.

I don't remember who, but you could go the route one of the guys on here did and spray paint it matte black... Cheap, quick and easy fix...

If you're going to get your money's worth out of spending a couple grand for a proper paint job by keeping the car a while, then sure. If not, wrap it. Or dip it if you can find a way to make it last.

From what I understand, plasti dip shouldn't be considered a long term solution. A proper paint job should last many years. Plasti dip is ok for several months but will begin to chip and peel eventually. That's fine if you want to play around with different colors or aren't going to keep the car for a long time. But in the long run plasti dip may end up being more expensive since you will have to dip more often.

Edit: so dipyourcar.com claims plasti dip can last up to 3 years but I've never heard of anyone lasting that long.

If applied correctly, taken care of correctly, and no rock chips occur, I could see it lasting that long. But only if those were to happen. Put yeah a studio is just for a temporary solution or changing colors.

Normally, how much does a complete exterior paint job run? I plan to keep the car for several years as my daily. Its rock solid and everything on the car works. No electric problems and the vtec still kicks in good. As stated above, the car only has 140k and my parents 91 accord had well over 200k before they sold it.

I have a MY06 s2000 that I plan to turbo as my fun car so hoping the Accord will be a reliable daily.

You'll be surprised at how much darker the paint is if you get a paint job. Shocked me, when I picked mine up, I thought it was black
