Yeah, I did various parts for the interior and engine covers for the j30 at one point. I dont have anything left in hand though, I ended up selling off most of it.

Has a nice and clean look to it. The EX badge on the dash is definitely different.

I was planning to swap to the dark leather interior but I want CLS seats in front (which are black), and 6GA seats in back because I love the fold-down function (which are charcoal). Unfortunately the 6GA charcoal color is much lighter. I didn’t want to have mismatched seats and/or mess with painting/wrapping the dash and painting all the interior panels black because I question how well that would hold up over time with sun, age, temperature, loading stuff in and out, people entering/exiting the car, etc. So I’m staying with the tan, but going to change up some of the other interior elements to make it more interesting.

EX badge was something I kind of did for for fun lol, some like it some hate it.

What instrument cluster is that?

It’s the APC “euro cluster”. I painted mine to match the HVAC/radio bezel. The shifter trim piece is a slightly lighter silver, been debating whether to paint that to match. Going to buy the graphite window switch door trim pieces if I find them for a good deal. I’m going to leave the woodgrain in the center console since that scheme will match the previous gen Lexus IS350 which I kinda like.

No drastic changes to mine, just a few details here and there. Bigger plans to come though.

Look'n good Red. I see the cluster turned out nicely! BTW I have the silver switch panels in my car. I may be interested in obtaining your wood grain ones....

I need to finish mine or at least stage 1 of my changes

Jon, I would love to see what you do after seeing the door insert in Memphis.

Only decent quality shot I have..

And here's a random very low quality picture that shows the rear a little...

The rear seats, black stitching, armrests, door panels, and headliner are all DIY. I was lucky enough to find a roll of the same Sparco fabric used on the Monza seats and used it for interior.

Envy, Dang thats nice. The seats look good and the color lay out is very tasteful.

Admittingly, I am on hiatus from the car world. The only thig I have done lately is an experiment for HVAC knobs.

^So you're going to come in here, an interior showoff thread, and not even post your amazing one-of-a-kind dash/console you spent countless hours on!? If you don't post it, I will...

:lawl:

It looks good at a glance lol, but I should have masked off less of the red/painted more of the clear parts. I need to take it back off and fix it so you can't see the red around the two dummy light compartments and the odo. Or I've thought of doing what you did and tinting them. But I remember you saying it made seeing the dummy lights a little more difficult. And I need to clearcoat it, I think if it reflects more light it'll look closer to the HVAC. Or not, it is so recessed it doesn't get much lightin the first place.

I would totally trade these with you if I didn't have the horribly stupid habit/attachment of holding onto my OEM parts in case I ever want to switch back...lol

If you find a way to make these and show them off....EVERYONE is going to be asking you to make them a pair. Including me... :deal:

Ok.,ok. Lol. Here it is: http://api.viglink.com/api/click?fo...mg.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ps4e6647f8.jpg

The gauge thing can be tricky. I really went a touch too dark on my first try...A lighter coat may be o.k. I would practice on some clear scrap plastic, i.e. coke bottles ect.

Thanks for the props on the prototype knob. Im still trying to figure the asthestics on joining the two parts. I'll post up when I get some where with it.

just installed the CL-S 6spd cupholder and e-brake, all my friends call it a sport cupholder because the front hole is like 7" deep and the other is perfect size to hug cans so nothing ever spills around corners :lawl:
red armrest is temporary because the leather was hella gross
Edit: All my door panels/ side panels/small trim pieces are painted with black vinyl spray paint, they're not oem charcoal just incase anyone's wondering about it, that's why the black cl dash matches so well, charcoal doesnt match the acura black very well, i can get pics of comparison if anyones interested

thanks dude, i dont see any reason why 4cyls cant do the swap, itd be pretty similar only hiccup would be the a/c, swapping the blower control box would probably solve it

im working on researching sizes to keep the fold down options of other cars in true black with perf, known fit would be 7ga accord coupe 6spd back seats(only 7ga with perf black) gotta get some measurements from a tsx and also 3g tl is a maybe.

btw, my vinyl painted door panels have held up perfectly, matches tl dash, looks factory to everyone, i've found out that it works great on anything soft vinyl like the panels and lower accord dash, no wear and tear issues on that stuff, hard plastic i have have had scratches that reveal the tan(touchin up with sharpie lol) the carpet also wears easily and looks bad, black painted charcoal parts stay looking nice and hold up visibly to scratches well since its not a big difference.

if i was doing an all black interior swap again in a cg2 i would do black leather seats out of another acura/honda, acquire oem charcoal interior and vinyl paint it flat black, buy black new carpet, and recover headliner fabric and deck in black fabric, door inserts in anything really, total cost could be 300-600 depending on if you wanna do tl/cl dash and how much you pay for seats
just some ideas if you ever change your mind or for the many who always ask about black int swap
