Okay, to the OP you are overanalyzing a simplistic install. This is an intake, it is the simplest piece of equipment on any automotive engine.
Why are you arguing with everybody on the tried and true way? Why argue against getting an ebay intake? You're not creating anything awe inspiring. You're looking real dumb for "custom" building a universal intake designed for making money. At least with ebay tubes you have something that fits better.
And you spoke earlier of a challenge? IT'S AN INTAKE TUBE!!! There's no challenge. It's a friggin piece of aluminum tube. You want a challenge, look at what MikeyMike did with his V6, combining multiple pieces to make a manual 6 speed V6 6thGen. Look at the G23 build. THOSE ARE CHALLENGES.
