tire size? I'm goin 215/45-18,~4% faster speedo

-edit-ditto redryder

Redryder is saying larger tire size will make your speedo show SLOWER than what you are actually going, not faster.
Not only that but wrong tire size will cause your odometer to read incorrectly.

Now if my speedo was showing SLOWER than what I was actually driving, I'd have a real problem with it.

This is what mine does. Not sure if I was clear on that on my last post. So, when I get clocked by one of those signs with a radar gun attached to it and they clock me at say....75Mhz, my speedo will read as 70Mph. And no matter what speed I'm clocked at - even low speeds - it's always 5Mph SLOWER than what my speedo tells me.

I'm on stock tires BTW. 205/60/16

Mine is off by 5mph also, I always have to hit speeds of "85 mph" to keep up with highway traffic.
215/40/18 tires btw.

Oops I worded that incorrectly, sorry. My speedo shows that I'm going 3mph FASTER than what I'm actually going. So if it shows 70, I'm going 67.

This is interesting stuff and it looks like I'm not alone on this. Mine always shows Im going 2-3mph faster than what I really am. I think weight of the vehicle also plays a factor.
