Srs light stuck on

My airbags were set off by a rock a while back and the guy who replaced everything did a horrible job and left me with an srs light. I ignored it until I tried to reset the light. The last time it was supposed to come back on and blink twice, it did not blink, and I tried many times. I assume it still detects a problem. What do I do about it, I have a srs unit off my parts car should I put it in? How can I tell what it is?

I'd say take it back and make the guy aware of the issue.

He did a ****ty job on everything except straightening my frame, thank god. My stepdad takes his $100000 cars up there and that scares me. I don't care I'll fix it myself, I got a good price. I'm not about to trust him again.

If you want to check the SRS codes yourself, try this procedure I posted elsewhere...

Most standard code readers will not spit out codes for the ABS and other similar systems in the car. There is a way though. You will need to short pin 8 and 13 with a conductor of some sort (paper clip, wire, etc.) (http://www.vehix411.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/obd2_connector.png) and the cluster will begin to flash out codes once you turn the key to the on position. Long flashes pertain to the "tens" place. Short flashes pertain to the "ones" place. Once you have all the codes, match them up to the list for the system described...

TCS Codes

Here's my own list as per Haynes Service manual...

24 - Right front normally-open solenoid
25 - Right front normally-closed solenoid
26 - Left front normally-open solenoid
27 - Left front normally-closed solenoid
28 - TCS relay
31 - Engine retard command
32 - Engine speed
34 - Reference voltage
36 - Throttle position sensor
61 - Automatic transmission shift position
81 - Continuous TCS Operation

take it to autozone and have them scan it, did the guy replace your srs computer? your airbags are currently disabled and unarmed until that light goes away

Thanks guys I'll try to check the codes soon. If I can't do it I'll run to town and see if AutoZone does do it.

Ok, I got the code. 10 long blinks, 1 short. Now help me out here, I'm not sure to look at. It's a 1999, manufactured during mid 1998, I don't know which codes to look at here.

Ok just making sure it's the right one. That might be a tough one, what all needs replaced? I have the srs computer ripped out of my parts car, so I can't see if it's any good.
