Got a standard I4 with about 114,000 miles.
I have been experiencing some grinding issues only in gears 1, 3 and 5.
Actually I haven't been able to get into 5th gear for the past week.
3rd gear only seems to be an issue when I'm down shifting from 4th to 3rd.
From 2nd to third is not that much of a problem.

has anyone experienced an issue like this with their standard trans?

Try double clutching before changing gears, if it doesn't grind when you do that, I would change the tranny fluid. My 5th gear used to grind as well, but if I doubled clutched it wouldn't grind. But once I changed the fluid it stopped grinding.

Double clutching doesn't seem to help much but I'll try changing the fluid. Thanks for the help.

Ok, Gear oil has been changed and now I can't even get it into first. More like I would think it's in gear, but as I slowly release the clutch and get on the gas, I get this load grinding noise.

Any other ideas on what I should do? Anyone else had this problem before? I've searched and most of the trans issues that come up seem to come from the automatic trans.

I have never heard of a honda tranny with synchro problems this bad. Especially on an accord/f23. You are going to end up needing a new one or getting yours rebuilt.

are you sure you bled the clutch correctly? sounds like there might be some air in the line
