I like the spot for the tranny cooler as well, if you have a DIY on how you did that, that would be appreciated.

LED's in the headlights.......I see someone else has caught the Audi 'bug'.....

I don't think our 6thgen auto trannies would last even if Jesus Christ himself blessed every single one of them. I pampered mine like a new born baby and it still failed on me. But I do admire the remote filter set-up and the trans cooler. I do hope it works out for you long enough to help you save up for the 6 speed swap. Nice car and welcome to the site

Nice. Any advantages to the bigger alternator?

My alternator was going bad so i decided to do the swap.
This is the hear-say:
1. More amps for spark plugs provides a cleaner burn
2. Allows you to roll down all 4 windows, opening the sunroof, turn on your lights, open the trunk and flip your hazards on all at the same time and the voltage meter stays above 12v
3. More amps for a system (not a major concern of mine)
4. Slightly faster startup
5. Brighter lighting

The truth:
~ The start up is slightly faster it does seem to run a little better the windows don't effect voltage as much but to be honest, this could have just been because mine was going bad. As a recommendation I wouldn't do it unless i needed a new one or planned to run a big audio setup.
It is an extremely easy swap for those of you looking to add to your mod list.

thanks to car-parts.com $35 plus shipping from a junkyard = $45.00 then a free test at autozone although if you have the cash a new one runs around 200.00 with a core charge
