I Would Like To Second That Notion!
I Think Stiffer suspension is easier on tires if you drive your car hard.
Body roll with stock suspension wears out the edges of your tires, Stiffer suspension does put more load and stress on the tire when hitting bumps but most people dont hit bumps as hard with stiff suspension.
I do know that if you run rubber band tires and stiff suspension you will wear out ball joints.
My buddy had a 5th gen on 18's and he went through 2 Front UCA's in a year.
Then he switched to stock wheels and tires
No problems since.
The tires are a major shock absorber,
With 40 series or rubber band tires your suspension takes a pounding from every little bump whereas 55 series tires soak up more bumps and give a smoother ride.
If you took 2 accords 1 with 18's and stock suspension
The second Lowered on stiff suspension and Stock wheels / tires
As long as the alignment is in spec
They should have similar tire wear, But the car with low profile tires will wear out suspension components faster due to the fact that every road bump is pounded into the suspension by the unforgiving small stiff sidewalls
