***PICS ADDED*** (56k)

hey guys,

I went to install my strut tower bar that I got from good ol' eBay, and it said it was for an Accord V6, but it clearly will not fit. The problem is the braces that are already connected to the strut towers, extending from the firewall area. If you don't know what supports I'm talking about, let me know, I'll try to get a picture. But the bar doesn't have enough clearance over these supports to bolt down on the strut tower. What gives? Was I sent the wrong product?

Who here has a strut tower bar on their car and also has those oem supports... because I'm wondering what kind of bar will actually work.

thanks!

i believe ive seen people take the original supports off then put the strut tower brackets on and then put the original brackets back on.

the existing bracket that holds the suspension to the firewall has a small piece of metal that holds a wire of some sort. for me, i use a hammer and bang it down so my ebay strut bar would fit there. that's how mine fit.

I know exactly what you're talking about JDM dynasty, I dremel-ed it off... but the actual bar itself is what prevents it from fitting. Do I just need to try a different bar? Maybe the one I have doesn't have high enough "curvy things", haha, meaning the two pieces that the actual bar screws into at either end. Know what i mean? You think some would be higher off of the towers that others?

my neuspeed one bolts onto the 2 open studs... it didn't interfere with the OEM one at all...

lol i had this problem too. i have a megan racing strut bar.

turns out u gotta take them out and then install your strut bar.
if you dont know how to take those stock ones out, theres 2 places on top of the firewall thing that pop out. just pop it open and you will see like 2 or 3 screws. after that, you can install your strut bar and then reinstall the stock ones.

that was kinda confusing, but you get the idea. haha.

so how would you fit those two stock bars back in after the strut bar... wouldnt the strut bar then be in the way?

if the strut fit the 3 bolts, then your fine. after that, you just adjust the length of the bar itself. as for the 2 bars that is hooked up into your firewall, put my aftermarket strut bar tower UNDER those 2 bars. so it overlaps my aftermarket strut bar. so yes, you have to bang that thing out of the suspension. but that's how i did it. not sure how other people did theirs.
