Hey Wildman why not contact them to see if you can get this site in on the groupbuy?

Not a bad idea :)

Here is the group buy / forum discount pricing on elemental designs stuff if anyone is curious. A Nine.2x amp and a 16kv2 or 13kv2 sub would wang pretty damn well

Browntown I think though that a lot of people assume that you have to have to choose between a loud system or a good sounding system, and if you buy quality stuff that just isn't true. I only have a single 12" sub and it gets pretty damn loud, but its also one of the best sounding subs I've ever heard. Fact is you just don't need multiple large subs to get loud (unless you're going for db drags loud).

the only kicker subs I've ever thought were decent were the comp vr's, but they didn't get very loud. and with their newer stuff (like the solo x subs) kicker seems to be caring less and less about sound quality and just want to be known as the "loud company".

i think that IS the point why they are making subs for loudest and not quality. haha. they are known for thump and craps. :D

I've got Eclipse all around, and Kicker in the trunk

Deck - Eclipse CD5000
Rear Dash - Eclipse 6x9
Door - Eclipse 6x1/2
Front Dash - Eclipse 1/2 (tweeters)
Trunk - Kicker L7, 12" Sub
Trunk - Kicker 650/1 Amp
Under Passanger Seat - Kicker 650/4 Amp

Got nothing but good things to say about Eclipse and Kicker, Good bass levels for listening pleasure, or if you wanna beat the hell outta your trunk, either one.

Kicker, much like Rockford has become, is talked up to be more than it is. For the money, there are a lot better choices.

I agree. Kicker subs get loud, and for the most part (there are a few exceptions), that's it.

JL for sure, I have a 13.5 w7 and had a 1000/1 jl amp it shut down most 2 12's

damn that must have pounded. I hope you were running a deep cycle battery or cap with that setup. my friend has the 15" JL w3's and those get pretty loud as well.

as for Kicker, i was at circuit city the other day and i heard the L7's and they bang with the right amp. Make sure you get an amp that can power the sub sufficiently. As for being loud on a budget, i would get a 2 channel or mono amp, pending on how many subs you plan on running, and then maybe 1 big 15" sub or two 12s. Ebay express has many different 2 channel and mono amps for around 140 shipped (Names brands too).

Good luck

bridging a 2 channel amp can turn out to suck if you go with a mass-produced brand like Alpine or Pioneer. the amp will overheat a lot - speaking from experience here. Its not true for all amps, if you buy a quality amp you can bridge some of the channels just fine, but most of what retail stores sell don't qualify as "quality" amps unfortunately.

I guess i've never thought of that. I have a ****ty Jensen Amplifier at the moment, and it seems to pump out just fine, but i guess there are exceptions to the conception.

The Kicker Amplifiers that circuit city sells seem to be pretty reliable bridgable wise, if you wanted to go that route. I saw a 2-channel moving some mtx thunder subs.

On a side note, i woudl def. want to have a headunit with sub out controls, so that you can control the bass balance from the front, rather then having to rely on changing the amp settings all the time.
