Tag taken and car towed

I was pulled over today after a cop ran my tag. Apparently it has been suspended and my car is not insured. I was stunned since I purchased the car within 24 hours of my sedan being totaled and I immediately insured it. I went to check my phone. No signal. I couldn't check my online policy or call. I was then informed that my tag was to be taken and my car towed.

Would you like to call a wrecker? Yes, if I had signal.

Wrecker stopped by the bank and charged $125 cash. Finally got home. Called insurance and they agreed that there's never been a lapse. I've always paid the full amount of full coverage since my first car four years ago. Looks like I'm stuck without a ride until Tuesday.

thats sucks dude. even though you were covered could they still need to take the tag cause your license was suspended? I hope you get reimbursed if the error was on their end or your insurance's

Idk if this helps but, when I got a ticket a few years ago, I couldn't show my valid insurance card to the officer, since all of them were expired in my glove box.

When I went to the court for the hearing, there was a guy w/ his laptop next to the judge. He checked my info, and figured out that I was under insured. And, my traffic ticket was luckily resolved as well.

If you were insured, and the thing was just an error, I don't see why you can't get it reimbursed..

Thanks for the input. Just hoping I don't have to wait for the state to reimburse me. I can only imagine how long that will take.

Insurance is giving me $50. Just aggravating since I have to drive my girlfriend 's car until tuesday.
