No one is say to sand too long, u pretty much wet sand till it looks really dull, light sanding just to sorta scratch at it then when use polishing or rubbing compound it will get that shine and wax it when ever. Im going on a year with mine, if u see in my last pic u can see some red, i sanded too much there lol :p

edit: this is with out being waxd over the winter. way shinnier after a fresh wax :p

Alright I have tinted and use polishing/rubbing compound and I have swirls.
WTF lol
How do I get rid of these now? And it's not even that glossy...

Yu don't even need rubbing compound.. I didn't use any, but I sprayed my clear out of a detailing spray gun.

I tinted it to the shade I liked, let it dry for like 25 minutes. Wetsanded with 1500 and then I shot 2 layers of clear on it. Shiny and smooth!!

I tinted then cleared.
Turned out foggy and spotty and not glossy.
So now I'm polishing and saying **** it.

So u think I should sand after I clear coat?
I keep hearing different ways. I just want glossy black lights lol

u gotta take all of the old stuff off or it will give u wierd effects..trust me i do tha same and nearly always bites me in tha as*

i paint at a body shop....
1st sand all of clear and tint off and start over
make ur scratch no course than 6oo
tint with the base coat that uve thind out
wait 10-15 min
clear with a urathane clear(two med wet coats. 15 min btw)
let dry for at least 12 hours(my suggeston)
lightly sand with 2000 or if u can get ahold of 3000 even better
then rubbing compoud(pref 3m)
swirlmark remover(again pref 3m)
and lastly coat of wax

u shld never go throu 2 coats of clear...its not needed.. let tha paper do tha sanding...only light pressure is needed
just try ur best not to run it...i suggest u use ppg base blk over reduce it and ppg clear...
ive ben doin this for about 2 years now
1 year b4 i went to uti for crrt and 1 after... ive done many lights with this same process

now i like the charcoal candy smoke effect on my tail light...straight balln
