Terrible MPG

In the last couple months, I've noticed that my V6 Accord has had a sharp decline in gas mileage. I've done the calculations and it's right around 12MPG city. :furious:

The motor is currently at 212,XXX miles and I know that has an effect on gas mileage. But is there something that would have caused the sharp decline, or is it just a tired motor? And is there anything that could make it better?

Thanks for the help in advance.

1. do your regular maintanence:
seafoam
new air filter
new spark plugs
new tranny fluid
properly inflate tires

2. tranny might be dying, thus the bad mpg

Ugh, that's not good then. I recently changed my spark plugs, filter and oil a few weeks back.. Along with the tranny fluid about 10K ago.

18 city for me...

definately check your psi in all tires, filter, yada yada- pretty much everyone said. Oh, and train yourself to let off like .5 of a mile before the red light and coast to stops, dont accelerate hard, in other words... drive like a woman ;) thats what i am having to do and its no fun :(

That engine has done a lot of miles. Check compression pressure, it will tell you a lot about the engine.
