carsound is a great price, but like i said.
if you live in a non-smog emission testing area and your cat is done, FTW.
i have one on and i don't have any rotten egg smell. Ray and Andryck have been around my car and no one has ever noticed any smell...

i get the polluting thing, don't get me wrong. but for me it's just price. and $40 would be an expensive test pipe, average is 20

This is a kind of old thread but i think that no cat is a very "selfish" mod. Maybe it's because i don't have a choice in cali really but i've heard on vechicals with low emissions, you pollute about 20x more than if you had one. I don't know how true it is but you will have far more comming out the tail pipe. That 1hp gain over a high flow is equivalant to 20 more cars on the road. My 2¢

:( Ok basicly with a test pipe u gain hp but u loose torque.... with a High Flow Cat you gain torque but lose hp. Here is an example with numbers.

Test Pipe= 10hp & 5lbs
Cat= 9hp & 7lbs

Im to lazy to go find sources, but im sure there is people on here that know this and will tell u the same thing (there is a thread not even a month old that covers this). Your not gona lose alot of horsepower with a cat, but the gain in torque will be greater then the loss. Cat's cost more, yes! but they don't smell and won't get u a ticket.

Get the test pipe if u don't want to dish out the cash. Keep your old cat for when u have to throw it on to pass emissions.
